The fragile large filler is foam cushioning that surrounds the roof drain. Since the roof drain is cast iron and, while heavy, is still fragile and subject to damage during transit.  The foam cushion protects against this. No one likes to receive damaged goods. Choosing this option provides you with 100% damage guarantee. There is no guarantee without it.
